Nach einer kleinen Wanderung durch den Uttewalder Grund zur Bastei nach Kurort Rathen mieten Sie an der Vermieterstation in Kurort Rathen (linkselbisch) ein verfügbares Boot Ihrer Wahl und paddeln die Elbe runter bis zum Ausgangspunkt Ihrer Tour.
Sie können auch in Stadt Wehlen oder weiter elbaufwärts Ihre Bootstour beginnen und bis Dresden paddeln. An verschiedenen Punkten können die Boote wieder abgegeben werden.

The Elberadweg Elbe-Cycle-Route between Wehlen Kurort Rathen is expanded on both sides and passable. On your way you will find some points of rest to linger and admire the rock world. If you do go slack, you can continue your tour at any time, with the S-Bahn.
At the Liebethaler Grund Valley yout first meet a steep sandstone rock formations which forms the entrance to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The first travelers from the nearby Dresden had arrived 200 years ago over Pillnitz and Graupa to Liebethal and Lohmen. They traveled from there to the so-called "Malerstreet" the Saxon Switzerland.

The deep valley, with its moss-covered sandstone walls and the stone bridge belongs to Lohmen and the community city Wehlen. The Valley is a section of the trails in this area, which connects the city of Wehlen with the reasons for the Bastei plateau.
In addition to numerous gourmet offerings you will find arround the church of Wehlen town, drinking water wells (in the church grounds) and the many historic buildings around it. From the market place the Basteikraxler starts and takes you (and your bike! / also bike´s for rent) to the Bastei.

Felsenburg Neurathen is situated close to Bastei near Rathen in Saxon Switzerland in Saxony, Germany. From this, the largest cliff castle in Saxon Switzerland, only the cleared rooms, passageways, cisterns and joist bearings of the former wooden structures remain today. From 1982-1984 parts of the spacious castle building were redesigned as an open-air museum.

The path between the Amselgrund Valley and the Bastei by the romantic Sweden holes is certainly one of the most popular and beautiful hiking trails in the Bastion area. The name "Sweden holes" was given in memory of the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), when the people hided herselves here from the Swedes.

The historical Rope Ferry connects Niederrathen and Oberrathen. If you arrive by train, you will enjoy a visit to the peaceful passage Bastei.

Walk from Kurort Rathen in the direction of Königstein upstream. After about 30 minutes to reach to this beautiful view of Oberrathen at the rocks.
The Hockstein is 115 meters above the Polenz Valley opposite the castle town Hohnstein. The towering cliffs with a spectacular view down, gets its wild charm through the deep gorges, which isolate the viewing rock. Until the construction of the stone Teufelsbrücke (Devils Bridge) in 1822, the road led to Hockstein up and down again on the Wolf's Glen. On the Hockstein Rock are remains of a medieval fortress. At the Southwest-foot of the rock is the Hocksteinhöhle, a 20-meter-long cave bedding planes. The route over the unsurpassed Wolfsschlucht Gorge should any walkers for the up or be recommended descent route.
